passion_hair_salon2Hi, my name is Gary and I’m the founder of Passion Hair. I want to use this page to let you know a little bit about the philosophy behind Passion Hair and what the “Passion” in Passion Hair really means to me.

For over 10 years I have had a dream. My dream and passion is to dedicate my life to helping the poor and less fortunate people in the world as much as I possibly can. This may sound strange to some and I know it is a lofty goal, but I believe we can all make a difference in our own way if we really try.

I have friends who have travelled to places such as Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam to help impoverished children and seeing this and hearing about what a difference we can make has really inspired me.

passion_hair_salon4 (1)Many years ago when I was working as a stylist in a London salon, I realised that the realities of my work life would hold me back from fulfilling my goal of helping the poor and less fortunate.

After some soul-searching, it dawned on me – I could use my passion and talent for hair styling to build a successful Hair Salon. In time this would give me the necessary time and finance to turn my greater passion and dream of helping others into a reality.

So now you understand a little more about the “Passion Dream” and what drives it.

Now, here is the really important part (and the reason that I’m telling you all of this) I am looking for like-minded people to join me in helping to make this dream a reality. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated, no matter how big or small.

I have already held a small charity event at Passion Hair where we successfully raised money for a local charity called St John’s Hospice (see below).

My next goal is to complete a sponsored caravan drive to China. Along the way I plan to teach hair-dressing techniques to underprivileged people and give free haircuts to whoever can’t afford it.

The route will take us through many countries including Thailand, the Philipinnes, and Vietnam and should take approximately 3 months.

So if you would like to help, please contact me and together we can turn the “Passion Dream” into the “Passion Reality”! 🙂

passion_newspaperOur Charity Work

In March 2010 we held our first charity event. We decided we would donate all of our profit from the first Sunday of every month to St John’s Hospice and we held a charity fundrasier party to announce this.

We were overwhelmed by the support we receieved and we are extremely thankful to everyone that took part.

The legendary pop-star, Adam Ant, supported us and very kindly donated some of his personal belongings which we successfully auctioned off.

In total, we managed to raise £1,500 for St John’s Hospice and in the future we plan to raise alot more.

Charity events like these are great fun but more importantly they help to raise awareness about good causes in the local community.
